Large work, published here in Piano/Vocal version only. This oratorio deals with the conversion to Christianity of the 9th-century Bohemian pricess Ludmila, grandmother of the first great Czech hero, St. Wenceslas. Although Ludmila was virtually unknown outside the Czech lands, the original British audience easily identified with the libretto's universal themes of faith, love and patriotism. This edition is a reissue of the original Novello P/V score, with some note corrections, addition of measure #s (to correspond to the orch score) and permormance notes. Full score and parts available from Supraphon (distributed by B?nreiter)
