This Advent/Christmas cantata for brass, chorus, and organ - setting a rich collection of Advent and Christmas texts (in both English and Latin) - begins with heraldic fanfares and concludes with explosive Alleluias. It was recorded at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Westwood on a very rainy evening; some of the singers never even made it. You can actually hear raindrops falling into buckets placed around the church, which reinforces the first line ("Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain the just").
