The original text is a paraphrase of John 1:14, 16-17. The choral writing is extremely skillful and accessible. The composer intended the accompaniment to be four-octave handbells, but the piano can be used instead, or some combination of both. The tolling of middle C represents God's unchanging love and unending grace in this beautiful anthem of assurance.
