Neil Harmon's adaptation of an 1875 text is surprisingly relevant, due to its simple structure. First, it names a situation in which we all find ourselves from time to time, then asks, "Did you think to pray? " The text of this unaccompanied setting fits wonderfully to the Appalachian folk melody WAYFARIN' STRANGER, and the combination is compelling.
