Ramsey, Dale

Dale E. Ramsey worked the early part of his career as a church musician, serving congregations of the Christian Church (Disciple of Christ) in Indiana, Texas and Missouri as a full-time minister of music/organist. In 1990 he established MusiGraphics Productions, a company specializing in music engraving and editing. Since then, he has divided his time between operating the company, playing organ at churches, and composing.

Dale's compositions include a broad range of pieces for choirs, organ, brass, concert band, handbells, chamber groups, and solo instruments. Music for two ballets was choreographed at Texas Women's University. A cantata, The Song of the Heart for two choirs, soloists, brass quintet and other instruments, was premiered in 2001 at the National Workshop for Church Musicians, sponsored by the Association of Disciple Musicians meeting in Kansas City in July. Recently, the Kansas City Brass played his Four Spanish Carols in concert programs the past two Christmas seasons.

His compositions have been published by Kjos, Choristers Guild, Southern Music Company, MorningStar Music Publishers, and Wingert-Jones Publications. In 1998, he completed a full-length opera in three acts Mother Noah - a chamber opera for a cast of eight adults and children's chorus, with chamber orchestra.

Raymore, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri is home, where he lives with his wife, Marcia. Two grown daughters are active in music composition and conducting.
