Pickett, Lynne

Lynne K. Pickett earned her B. A. degree in Piano Performance from Millsaps College and the M.M.E. degree from George Peabody College for Teachers of Vanderbilt University. Her career as a choral arranger began while an undergraduate student, providing custom arrangements for and performing with a collegiate ensemble chosen for USO Tours. As a singer, she has performed over the years with numerous choral ensembles in Nashville, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi, as chorister and mezzo-soprano soloist. She is currently director of Concordia Ensemble at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson. The a cappella ensemble's repertoire consists primarily of music of the Christian Year which is presented annually in concert as Seasons and Holy Days. Choral arrangements based on hymn tunes with a particular liturgical theme are the primary focus of her work.
