Fuhrer, William B.

William B. Fuhrer maintains an active role in the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church, New Cumberland, PA. Having grown up in this church, his list of activities includes being a past member of the Carol, Cherub and Chapel choirs, as well as serving in the chancel as an acolyte and crucifer. He is one of the original members of the Bell Choir, serves as an Assistant Minister, Chancel choir member and is a part of the Worship & Music committee. He continues to assist in the acolyte training classes and is currently working to start a men’s choir that will sing several times through the year.

Bill is a past member of church council where he served two of those years as Vice President. He has immersed himself in the history of St. Paul and continues to compile reference information on the building and congregation events, past and present. You also will see him whenever food is the subject—whether it be running the grill at the Apple Festival or cooking eggs at the men’s breakfast. He earned his eagle Scout award while growing up in Troop 82.

Bill also sings in the 65-voice Trinity Lutheran Church Chancel Choir. Trinity is located in Camp Hill, a community adjacent to New Cumberland. Bill’s long time organ, piano and voice teacher, the late Robert W. Nelson, directed Trinity’s Music Program for many years. This music program continues to be one of the most dynamic church music programs in all of Pennsylvania.

He is an accomplished organist and has written several compositions for organ that have recently been picked up by MorningStar Music for publication. He has recorded and published several CDs that are sold at gift shops in Ocean City, Maryland. Bill currently works as an Account executive for the Drexel Group in Camp Hill.
