The release of this publication represents a significant contribution to church music repertoire. An accessible, beautiful multi-movement work for choir, organ, and optional orchestra by the esteemed British composer, Andrew Carter. The piece begins with a powerful statement of praise (Great Is the Lord), and is followed by a delightful new setting of “For the Beauty of the Earth” which is printed in two versions—SA or SATB. The third movement is a wistful and gentle setting of selected verses from Psalm 145 and John 15 (The Lord is Gracious and Merciful). The fourth movement is for solo soprano and is a beautiful treatment of John 15:15 (I Am the Vine), which leads directly into the closing hymn for choir and optional congregation of an original text “Thou Art the Vine” (available separately as a choral anthem). Each movement can be performed individually. Total duration is 15 minutes. Multiple performance options: choir and organ; choir, handbells; and organ; choir, woodwinds, harp, handbells, and organ; or choir, handbells, orchestra, and organ. [316] SATB, opt. Unison/Junior Choir, Solo Baritone and Soprano, Descant, opt. Congregation, and Organ with Instruments (Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoons I and II, F Horn, Handbells—4 octaves, Cymbals, Timpani, Harp, Violins I and II, Viola, Cello, Bass). M F-02
