This setting of the familiar prayer of St. Francis of Assisi emphasizes the ministry of the church in the 21st century. There is a plea to the Divine Master to grant us the grace to be ministers to the world. This piece provides an excellent opportunity for the choir to create vocal tone colors that help convey the text’s relevance in our world today. An obbligato oboe part (or any C instrument) enhances the text, and provides a unifying source of “peaceful” harmonic movement. Reproducible part for C instrument included.
