Biography

Mark Shepperd currently serves as Director of Worship and Music at Woodbury Lutheran Church, Woodbury, Minnesota, where he oversees the church's music program, directs the adult choir and vocal ensembles, and serves as principal organist. A native of the twin cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Mr. Shepperd earned a music degree at Augsburg College, Minneapolis and has done graduate study at the University of Minnesota where he studied composition with Paul Fetler. His compositions, both choral and instrumental, are represented in the catalogs of more than a dozen American music publishers. He is a first place winner of the John Ness Beck Foundation competition, a 2010 winner of the VocalEssence and American Composers Forum Welcome Christmas Carol Contest, as well as a reoccurring recipient of the Standard Award from ASCAP. Mr. Shepperd resides in the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury, Minnesota with his wife, Mary. They are the parents of three grown children.
