Carol Browning

Carol Browning, residing in Santa Paula, California (near Los Angeles), has been a pastoral musician and liturgist for more than twenty-five years, mainly in Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Episcopal, and Presbyterian settings, although she is a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). She is a liturgical composer, published by MorningStar Music Publishers, GIA Publications, Inc., and an independently published inspirational songwriter. As a member of the Collegeville Composers Group, Carol and her fellow composers (Catherine Christmas; Fr. Cyprian Consiglio, OSB Cam.; Dr. Paul Ford; and Paul Inwood) have created a new music program, entitled Psallite and published by Liturgical Press, written in a truly collaborative manner. She also writes occasional articles for various liturgical music magazines.

Carol currently serves as music director for King of Glory Lutheran Church, in Newbury Park, California, does other ministry at an Episcopal parish, and freelances as a pastoral musician. She is active in creating and leading ongoing contemplative ecumenical prayer services.
