Paul Koch, born in Lima, Ohio, received the Bachelor of Music degree in organ and composition from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1951. He majored in oboe and conducting while at the Naval School of Music and earned the Master of Sacred Music degree from Union Theological Seminary in 1956. His teachers have included Searle Wright, Harold Friedell, Peter Wilhousky, and Robert Shaw. Paul has studied computer programming, has worked in the business community, and has been active in a variety of organizations. He has also served various churches in Illinois.
